Agapanthus orientalis 'Blue' Agapanthus, African Lily Description A hardy, drought tolerant evergreen perennial suitable for most climates and soil types. It has strappy green leaves and produces tall blue flowers from November to February. It makes an excellent background or focal plant in the landscape or can be used in pots as a courtyard or balcony feature. Tolerant of coastal conditions in second line position. Performs best with moderate watering, albeit drought tolerant once established. Tolerates both cold and heat, however leaves will be damaged by frost. Prefers soils rich in organic matter but adaptable to most soil conditions. Remove flower heads before seed set if located near bushland. Clumps can be lifted, thinned out and replanted if desired.
