These attractive and reliable shrubs are grown for their colourful bright red young leaves,
which turn dark green and glossy as they mature. This variety has a compact habit and
is suitable as a lawn or border specimen or may be trained as a wall shrub. It makes
an excellent evergreen hedge which grows rapidly and clips well. Regular clipping will
encourage the new red growth. Flattened heads of small white flowers appear in spring.
