About this release
This document contains important information about the current release. We strongly recommend that
you read the entire document.
We do not support the automatic upgrade of a pre-release software version. To upgrade to a production
release of the software, you must first uninstall the existing version.
Release build — 5.1.1
This release was developed for use with:

McAfee® ePolicy Orchestrator® 4.6.3-5.1.0
Purpose
This release incorporates new features, provides support for additional databases, and resolves several
known issues.
Rating
Recommended — McAfee recommends this release for all environments. This update should be
applied at the earliest convenience.

New features
This release of the product includes these new features.
Sensor buffer area monitoring
Sensor buffer areas are now monitored. A system message is issued when a configurable threshold is
reached. Additional statistics are stored in the sensor local log directory.

Oracle native encryption networking support
Oracle native encryption support has been added to the sensor network monitoring module (Oracle
11g on Linux and Solaris).
SQL server alternative connection with Windows authentication
The SQL server alternative connection now supports Windows authentication (Active Directory and
local OS accounts).
MySQL plugin improvements
The MySQL plugin does not mandate the database account to operate. A database account is still
required if session termination is required.
mcap module improvements
The mcap module now supports networking monitoring on Linux and Solaris.
Database platform support
McAfee DAM now supports Sybase 15.7 SP 111, SP 121, SP 122.
Resolved issues
These issues are resolved in this release of the product. For a list of issues fixed in earlier releases,
see the Release Notes for the specific release.

A problem related to product upgrade has been resolved. (974850)

Memory is now allocated to the network monitoring module without issues. (989921)
•
A problem related to monitoring the state of a sensor on a Solaris environment has been resolved.

The sensor now generates events with the correct execution times. (984023)
•
SQL Server 2008 R2 CPU1 x64 and SQL Server 2012 SP1 CU8 11.0.3401 are now monitored
without issue. (952670, 979386)
•
Redo log is monitored correctly even when session information is empty. (977544)
•
The correct status of a database is reported when the sensor has a cluster configured and one of
the database is deleted. (979474)
•
The correct status of databases in a clustered environment is now reported. (977087)
