STC Meetings
Prince Megrin Data Mini ng Center
team visited Saudi Telecom Company
(STC) to explore mutual cooperation
possibilities. This meeting resulted in
positive feedback from STC and opened
up channels for collaborations. In the
future MEGDAM and STC would be participating in joint areas of interest to
both par ties.
Meeting Dr. Musaed Al Muqbil
MEGDAM had the honor to host Dr. Musaed Al Muqbil, Dean of Research and Higher
Studies at Prince Sultan Universit y. Dr. Al Muqbil visited the center and had a one

Review of MEGDAM Bylaws
The University Council approved the new research funding
bylaws for Prince Megrin Data Mining Center. Prior to the approval, the center bylaws were updated based on recommendations from the office of the vice rector for academics and
research, closely reminiscent to funding bylaws of Prince Salman Research and Translation Center. The center thanks Dr.
Abdul Hafeez Feda, Vice Rector for Academics and Research,
for his guidance and leadership.

IEEE Extreme competition
This year three CS and SE students
formed a team “RedWolves” to compete in
the IEEE EXTREME 8.0 programming competition. This was the first time that our
students have represented PSU from men’s
college. A total of 21 teams par ticipated
from Sau di universities including KSU,
K AUST, King Abdul Aziz Universit y and PSU.
Team “RedWolves” from PSU men’s college totaled 492.35 points earning them
the second place among their Saudi peers.
These students are yet to complete “CS210
Data Structures” course which is an essential requirement for solving IEEE EXTREME
problems.
Congratulations for team “RedWolves”,
CCIS and PSU on this achievement.
