Quadrilaterals Quadrilaterals are polygons with 4 sides. There are different types of quadrilateral. Type of quadrilateral Illustration Square Rectangle Rhombus Parallelogram Trapezium Kite Properties This is a regular polygon. The sides are of equal length. The angles are equal. (90°) A rectangle has four right angles and two pairs of parallel lines which are opposite each other. The sides are equal lengths. The angles are equal. (Like a pushed over square!) The opposite sides are equal length and parallel. (Like a pushed over rectangle!) A trapezium has one pair of parallel sides. A kite has two pairs of sides of equal length and these are next to each other. Parallel lines always remain the same distance apart no matter how long they are.
