What is the solar-planetary theory?
• Earth is affected by the whole solar system
• Long term – Solar wind, orbital changes, LOD changes
• Medium term – Lunar cycles, solar variation, LOD changes
• Short term – Tidal cycles, solar variation, ‘chaos’
• Feedbacks operate between planets and Sun
• Evidence of cyclic changes having a celestial origin
• De Vries, Gleissberg and other cycles match planetary cycles
