• Some of the landforms and bodies of water
in China are: Hemayila Mountains, Tibet
Plateau, Yangtze River, Huang He, Chang
Jiang, and North Plain.
China is located in Asia, and on the Northern
and Eastern Hemispheres.
The People
• The main language of China is Mandarin
• The main religions of China are: Buddhists,
Taoists, Muslims, and Christians
• The life expectancy in this country is: Male:71
Female:74
• The adult literacy rate for China is: Male:95%
Female:87%
Government
• The system of government for China is
communism. The Chinese Communist Party or
(CCP) is the ruling party
• Hu Jintao is currently the president of China
Economy
• Some of the ways that people in China
make a living is by farming and growing
crops, such as: rice, tobacco, corn, barley,
peanuts, wheat, and potatoes.
• The per capita GDP of China is $3,330 per
person.
Winter Olympics
• 94 athletes from China were participating in the
Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada
• The 94 athletes are participating in 15 different
events
Medals
• China has won 5 gold medals in short track(4
times) and figure skating(1 time)
• 2 silver medals in freestyle skiing and curling
• 4 bronze medals in freestyle skiing(2 times)
speed skating(1 time) and curling(1 time)

• China has had 5 world records in figure
skating twice, free skating, short track
and speed skating.

• Olympians from China can be as young as 16.
• Wang B. is one of the smallest Olympians at the
Olympics, but one of the best at curling
