Our learning will include:

The history of the Norfolk Broads and Happisburgh and how they have changed over time.

Which settlers and invaders have had an impact on Norfolk, especially our local area.

A study of events over time in our locality.

Making links between our area and the Anglo-Saxons.

Creating art work linked to our village.
We will be focusing on how believers put their faith into action.
We will learn about these aspects of Christianity, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism.
We will be asking:
Does compassion require action?
Giving, which charities are most deserving?
Should people be required to give?
What action is taken in local, national and international areas?
This term we are investigating plants, sound and electricity.
Our learning will include:

Identifying how sounds are made and recognising that vibrations from sounds travel through a
medium to the ear.
 Identifying and describing the functions of different parts of flowering plants: roots,
stem/trunk, leaves and flowers
 Exploring the requirements of plants for life and growth (air, light, water, nutrients from soil,
and room to grow) and how they vary from plant to plant
 Exploring pollination, seed formation and seed dispersal.
 Constructing a simple series electrical circuit, identifying and naming its basic parts, including
cells, wires, bulbs, switches and buzzers














We will be taking part in drama to inspire our writing.
We will be writing our own mythical stories.
We will be using features of persuasive writing.
We will be writing poetry and sharing stories from other cultures.
We will be creating characters using description, stage directions and dialogue, comparing
playscripts and stage directions.
We will be continuing to develop structure and organisation, powerful vocabulary and speech in
our writing.
Year 3/4 will be continuing to focus on improving their understanding of grammar.
We are continuing to become more confident with our times-tables and related division facts.
We are continuing to use written methods for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
and understanding how we can use these methods to solve problems.
We are continuing to link life skills into our numeracy work and improving our mental maths
skills.
We will be investigating perimeter and area.
We will be investigating time, measures, and data and creating our own data.
We will be plotting co-ordinates and creating our own treasure maps.
We will be taking part in ‘Big Maths’ which links our mathematical learning to the real world.
This will sometimes take place outside of the classroom.
