Honors Geometry 2.1
Perpendicular lines two lines that intersect to form four right angles and have negative reciprocal slopes of each other (as long as the lines are not vertical and horizontal) symbol
All vertical and horizontal lines are perpendicular
Perpendicular bisector of a segment is a line, segment or a ray that splits the segment into two congruent segments and creates four right angles at the point of intersection.
1
Coordinate Plane
Origin is the point where the vertical and horizontal axis intersect to form four right angles and has the ordered pair of (0, 0).
Distance formula
Pythagorean Theorem in a right triangle the sum of the two legs squared is equal to the hypotenuse squared.
2
Compare Two Lines
1. Intersect most specific case the line are perpendicular
2. Parallel two lines that never intersect are in the same plane and have the same slope.
3. Skew two lines that are not in the same plane, will never intersect, and never have the same slopes.
