Tips for Producing Saliva
Sometimes it’s hard to produce saliva, especially if you suffer from dry mouth.
We have put a list together with some tips that can help with the production of saliva.
1) SMELLING acidic items like lemon juice, vinegar or pickle juice
2) Chewing on unflavored dental-grade paraffin wax, found in pharmacies and drug stores
(commonly, wax covering for metal braces)
3) Eating or smelling spicy foods Such as Cayenne pepper
4) Swishing vigorously with cold water for 30 seconds
Call with questions or concerns, or if you are unable to fill the vials according to the timing schedule
listed on the form for completing saliva collection.
