CLINICAL EXPERIENCE
 Training program in Kasr El-Eni hospital which is a balanced mix
of General Medicine and Hepato-Gastroenterolgy, in Egypt.
 Basic training in Kasr El-Eni Hospital which is the biggest
teaching hospital in Cairo University (3500 beds).
 The program had a fair share of General Medicine.
 Acute Medicine (1 in 4 on-call rota), and specialist
Gastroenterology training.
 The capacity of the hospital plus the endemicity of hepatitis in
Egypt allowed for a huge hands-on experience.
 Training in a hepatology ICU and dealing with the critical cases
including the hepatic and other internal medicine emergencies.
 Dealing with the patients before and after liver transplantation and
handling their complications

 Responsible for and sharing in the training of foreign medical
students participating in the tropical medicine summer school
organized by the Students Scientific Society (SSS) at kasr-El Eini
hospital yearly from 2008 till now.

- Diagnostic ultrasongraphy.
- Liver Biopsy (blind and US guided).
- Interventional ultrasonography (percutaneous alcohol and acetic acid
injection for HCC and US guided aspiration).
- Diagnostic upper endoscopy.
- Others: Central venous line placement, Ascitic fluid Paracenteseis,
NasoGastric Tube insertion, Sungestaken tube insertion, Urinary
Catheterisation, ABG.
