
1 handful baby romaine or other similar baby green
Small handful sprouts (optional: I like sunflower, pea or alfalfa)
Small handful herbs (mint & cilantro work well)
1 Cup mixed fresh or frozen berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
¼ tsp cinnamon
1 Cup water
½ Cup protein powder (I like whey protein, but you can use egg white or a Vegan Pea
& Brown Rice Powder)
2 Tbsp ground flax seed (1 Tbsp whole seed)
Note that flax adds not only essential Omega-3 fats (1.5g ALA) but also 3g of fiber, mostly
soluble fiber, the type that helps lower cholesterol. Flax is also rich in lignan, a Phytonutrient
which is a Pre-biotic (it feeds the good bacteria in your intestine). Flax also adds 2g protein &
5% of the DV for Iron. So I would highly recommend adding it.
1. Throw it all in a blender
2. Add ice if you like
3. Pour into a “real” glass or a Thermos, for energy on-the-go
