CANCER –PREVENTION & PROMOTION OF HEALTH
Background:
Cancer, the world’s second biggest killer after cardiovascular disease, is one of the most
preventable, non-communicable, chronic diseases (ACS, 2012; WHO, 2008).
Directions:
 Review the world view of cancer with clustering, and determine if China has high
rates of any specific cancers, and any related risks.
 Are there specific areas that should be targeted for patient education related to
high cancer rates in China?
 Identify health promotion and prevention activities that could be instituted and
sustained.
 Discuss the things nurses can do to promote lifestyles that decrease the risk of
developing cancer, highlighting China.
 Paper approximately 2-3 pages.
