ROSEMARY GREVILLEA Height: < 2m Grevillea rosmarinifolia Rating: Priority Environmental Weed Description: A spreading variable shrub with alternate narrow and sharply pointed leaves. Flowers are pink to red, often with paler tips. An Australian native from Victoria, the species was introduced as a hardy cultivated garden species. Is common to the Adelaide Hills Council District and is believed to have become naturalised in Mount George Conservation Park. The species is also known to hybridises with the locally native Grevillea lavandulacea subsp. lavandulacea (Lavender Grevillea), potentially threatening the genetic integrity and the ongoing survival of the species. Preferred habitat: Prefers woodlands near watercourses and moist slopes, but is now a prominent weed of in grasslands, open woodlands and rocky slopes. Flowering: Spring Method of Spread: Spreads primarily by seed, dispersed by ants, wind and water. Controls: - Cut and Swab large individuals.
