2500 – How it is used
The 2500 is designed to work as flexible
controller in a number of possible
architectures:
• As stand alone programmer/controllers using the Eurotherm
type T800 ¼ VGA display
• As front end control and data acquisition for third party PLCs
and SCADA packages
• As stand alone signal conditioning or alarm monitor
• As extension I/O for the 2604 and 2704
programmer/controllers

The IOC Module
The Input / Output Controller module (IOC) is the central
processing unit of the 2500 system.
The IOC supports several communications interfaces for
configuration and large networked systems, SCADA packages,
T940 and the Visual Supervisor, PLCs and so on:
• An RS232 interface using an RJ11 connector is used for system
configuration
• Modbus 3-wire or 5-wire communications
• Profibus DP or Profibus DPv1 communications
• DeviceNet communications
Note: The last three each require a dedicated version of the
IOC and Terminal Unit; the "Configuration Port" is standard on
all IOCs.

2500 - Programmable I/O Alarm System

User selectable input and output
– T/C, RTD, mA, mV, V, Pot, Pyrometer.
– Logic or Relay (2A @ 240v)

Each analogue module has eight alarms
– with set-point, hysteresis, latching
and inhibit functions.

4 additional user assignable alarms per base
– selectable AbsHi, Abs Lo, Dev Hi, Dev Lo, Dev band

Diagnostic LED's
– show Analogue signal status
– provide local indication or alarm status


An external power supply is required. The nominal voltage is
24 VDC with tolerance of 18 VDC to 28 VDC
Eurotherm offers three 24VDC supplies





2.5 amp (60 watt)
5 amp (120 watt)
10 amp (240 watt)
A system with 4 analog inputs, 4 analog outputs, 4 digital
inputs and 4 digital outputs requires 0.5 amps.
