Rule in finding equivalent fractions!!!
• You can change the numbers in a fraction by
multiplying or dividing BOTH the numerator
and denominator by the SAME number.
• In other words . . . WHATEVER YOU DO
TO THE NUMERATOR, YOU MUST DO
TO THE DENOMINATOR!
• ½ = 2/4 = 3/6 = 4/8 = etc. . . .
• 1 x 2 = 2 and 2 x 2 = 4, so ½ = 2/4; 1 x3 = 3
and 2 x 3 = 6, so ½ = 3/6; and so on it
goes!!!
