My Real World Question
 Kristin and her four friends went to
the zoo. The ticket costs $15.00, and
the parking fee is $3.00. With this
being said, how much money would
be needed?
The Equation
 The equation is as follows:
X= number of
friends
Y= money
needed
15x+3=y
Independent and Dependent
 The independent variable is the x value.
 The dependent variable is the y value.
 The money needed to go to the zoo(y) depends on the
number friends(x).
Is it a Function?
 This would definitely be a function
because the (x) values don’t
repeat.
Is it Continuous or
Discrete?
 This graph is discrete because it skips
the numbers between the whole
numbers.

Domain and Range
 Domain is the x values only
 Range is the y values only
My domain would be{1,2,3,4,5}
My range would be{18,33,48,63,78}

The Answers
The conclusion is that the cost per ticket is
$15.00, so multiply by five because there are
four friends along with Kristin.
 And you don’t want to forget the parking
fee, so with the total($75.00), add $3.00.
Therefore the grand total would be $78.00.
