The Trombone

The Trombone
 It is an orchestral instrument in the brass section.
 It plays alongside the trumpet in the orchestra.
 It is one of the lowest instruments in the brass section.
 One of the first versions of it was made in the 15th
century.
The Trombone
Trombones are made of
brass which is made of
copper and zinc.
The slide can be made of
nickel or brass.
The Trombone
 You play it by putting your lips to the mouthpiece and
letting your lips vibrate.
 You can change the note by sliding the slide up and
down the instrument.
 If you slide it up it gets higher and if you slide it down
it gets lower. The highest note that a trombone can
play is Bb and the lowest is Eb.
The Trombone
 Glenn Miller: He was an American big
band musician, arranger, composer,
and bandleader in the swing era
leading one of the best known big
bands from the trombone.
 Two famous pieces of trombone
music are Blue Bells of Scotland by
Arthur Pryor and the trombone solo
in "Tuba Mirum" from Mozart's
Requiem
