Treatments
Detoxification Treatment
Points:
• Autonomic Point (39)
Calm sympathetic nervous system
• Shenmen (area 1, 2nd ear model)
Calm shen
•
•
•
These points are to assist in the process of toxins through major detoxification organs
Kidney (47)
Liver (46)
Lungs (52)
Obesity
Main Points:
Stomach (43)
Secondary Points:
Mouth (40)
Lung
(area 52)
Spleen (50)
Large Intestine (45)
Hungry
Thirsty

Kidney
Sympathetic/autonomic
(47)
(39)
Shenmen
(area 1, 2nd model)
Endocrine
(34)
Sanjiao
(53)
Discussion:
Maximize food/drink processing: stomach, spleen, large intestine
Calm the shen: shenmen, autonomic/sympathetic
Calm oral cravings: mouth, hungry, thirsty
Enhance metabolism: endocrine
Resolve dampness associated with obesity: lung, kidney, sanjiao
Treatment:
Filiform or electric acupuncture daily, 3-5 points each time. Follow up with seeds/granules.
Conjunctivitis
Treatment 1
Blood letting on Ear Apex
Treatment 2
Puncture with strong stimulation:
• Eye (K on 2nd ear model)
• Shenmen (area 1 on 2nd ear model)
• Ear Apex
Retain needles for 30 minutes
Bronchial Asthma
Main Points
Lung
(area 52)
Trachea
(area E)
Adrenal
or Infratragic Apex
(29)
Soothe Asthma
or Antitragic Apex
(32)
Kidney

San Jiao
(53)
Large Intestine
(45)
Shenmen
(area 1 on 2nd
model)
Secondary Points
Root of Vagus
(71, 2nd ear model)
Methods of Treatment:
During active asthma attack:
Strong stimulation with filiform needle. Choose 4-5 points bilateral or unilateral. Retain
for 30 minutes.
When during “asthma season”:
Same as above, but daily until condition stabilizes. After stabilization, once every other
day.
During Remission:
Embed needles or seeds.
Chronic Gastritis
Main Points:
Stomach (43)
Secondary Points:
(46)
End of inferior helix crus –
sympathetic nerve (39)
Spleen (50)
Mouth (40)
Lung (52)
Endocrine or
Intertragus (34)
Discussion:
All points calm gastric overactivity. Stomach/spleen calms the organ as does sympathetic nerve.
St/Sp additionally increase efficiency of the food processing. Endocrine point stops
overproduction of acids. Liver calms liver fire flaring up to spleen/stomach. Mouth treats the
inflamed stomach. Lung…good question.
Treatment Methods:
1. Needle or electric acupuncture once daily using 3-5 points from the above.
2. Embed seeds or granules.
Dysfunctional Uterine Bleeding
Main points:
Endocrine
Uterus or Intertragus
Perhaps internal genitalia
(34)
area 4 on 2nd ear model?
Could also be the pelvic cavity, area 2 on 2nd model

Shenmen
(area 1 on 2nd model)
Middle Ear or
Diaphragm (1)

• Endocrine area (34)
• Mouth (40)
• Sanjiao (53)
• Subcortex/Brain (inside aspect of antitragus – 33)
