Job Description
BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE DEVELOPER
DESCRIPTION:
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with database
programming, development and administration, and 3-5 years of practical experience with
relational and dimensional database design and architecture. The candidate will actively
participate in all phases of the database application and reporting life-cycle. They will create
and maintain advanced SQL stored procedures, design and manage complex ETL processes,
analytical reports, multi-dimensional and tabular data cubes. Additional responsibilities will
include supporting and troubleshooting an existing SQL Server environment including query
optimization, performing capacity planning, and cube maintenance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:





Assist in administering multiple SQL Server instances supporting business, web and data
warehouse applications
Design data models for efficient data access, reporting, and data validation during
application design and construction phases
Develop and optimize advanced SQL Queries using MS best practices when possible
Design and manage complex ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services
Query performance monitoring and tuning of databases and database server
environments
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:













MS-SQL Server 2012 and above SQL programming (5-7 years)
Strong experience with ETL frameworks and tools
Experience creating reports and managing an enterprise reporting platform
Experience with on premises and/or cloud based analytics tools (Qlik Sense, Power BI,
Azure ML, Tableau)
Experience implementing multi-dimensional analysis using data cubes or other OLAP
platforms
Strong knowledge of relational and dimensional data modeling
Experience working with data warehouses, NoSQL and other decision support databases
Familiarity with data governance and master data management programs
Experience with database and query performance tuning
Strong knowledge of database development methodologies, techniques and tools
Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and resolving technical problems
Effective interpersonal communications skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently in a deadline oriented environment
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:




Working knowledge of data modeling tools
Experience with financial analysis ideal
Experience with basic database administration tasks (backup, restore, maintenance)
Working knowledge of statistics and statistical analysis packages
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION:

B.S. degree in an information systems discipline, mathematics or comparable work
