The Dafo Linear Detection Wire is a
mechanically resistant and reliable
detection system that detects heat
anywhere along its length.
Due to its ease of installation, space saving
design and low cost the Dafo Detection
Wire is an excellent choice in Buses,
Construction Machinery, Off-Road Vehicles,
Conveyors & Cable Trays.
The wire could be applied in virtually any
length with the integrity of full circuit
supervision.
Design
Use
The Dafo Linear Detection Wire consists of an outer
jacket made from flame retardant vinyl. This
ensures a good performance for most installations
featuring low moisture absorption, good resistance
against many common chemicals as well as
excellent low temperature flexibility.
The Dafo Linear Detection Wire is easy to install and
to locate in a manner that ensures optimal
performance combined with excellent serviceability.
Inside the housing are two steel conductors,
individually insulated with a heat sensitive polymer.
The conductors are twisted in order to give a spring
pressure between the conductors.
Function
When the wire reaches the specified temperature,
the heat sensitive insulation melts, allowing the two
steel conductors to connect, giving an electrical
signal to the control unit.
The Dafo Linear Detection Wire does not need to be
heated for a specific length thus combining the
performance of a spot detector with the convenience
of line coverage.
The Detection Wire is located in the hazardous area
and connected to the control unit. An end of line
circuit ensures continuously supervision of the
integrity of the wire throughout its entire length.
The wire can be spliced for even greater flexibility.
The Dafo Linear Detection Wire gives high
performance at an attractive price, both from a
