2. JOB PURPOSE
To lead a team of Recovery Workers in a defined area who provide psycho social
interventions to Service Users with problematic use of drugs and/or alcohol.
To carry a case load of clients with drug and/or alcohol problems, delivering psycho social
interventions to promote recovery and abstinence.
To assist in the delivery of recovery orientated treatment which will incorporate where
appropriate abstinence based, harm reduction, psychosocial and other therapeutic
interventions in line with the NTA’s Models of Care clinical guidance, current drug strategy
and a shared care treatment model.

3. MAIN DUTIES

















To support Recovery and Assistant Recovery Workers within the cluster area.
Providing their direct line management, supervision and development of appraisal
and professional development plans.
To work closely with the Lead and other Senior Recovery Workers to identify
targets and develop strategies which ensure all key performance indicators are met
as set by the Board.
Deputise for the Lead in their absence
To work unsupervised in a manner that promotes excellent service user care while
recognising professional and organisational requirements and boundaries
Hold a case load of clients in the cluster area providing psycho social interventions
which will include but not limited to motivational interviewing, goal setting and
node link mapping
Provide holistic assessment from where SMART care plans can be developed with
the service user and reviewed at timely intervals.
To motivate, encourage and support individuals to achieve the goals identified in
their action plan
Incorporating recovery themes into every aspect of the treatment journey
To coordinate and review the delivery of care as set out within the client’s care
plan. To liaise with other professionals as part of the coordination of clients’ care,
including referral and ongoing communication with appropriate shared care
providers / prescribers as necessary
To assist in the delivery of abstinence based treatments, recovery orientated
interventions, harm reduction, psychosocial and other therapeutic interventions in
line with the NTA’s Models of Care clinical guidance and current drug strategy
To regularly review and evaluate care and treatment progress using the NTA’s
Treatment Outcome Profile and other tools such as the International Treatment
Effectiveness Plans (ITEP).
To participate in clinical governance and to be involved in changes in practice.
To participate in the continuous assessment of workload in order to support the
optimum use of resources.
To participate in and support audit and practice/ staff development.
To compile comprehensive / accurate reports as appropriate / delegated for
example those required by safeguarding units and criminal justice settings
To adopt our quality improvement methodology and seek to continuously improve
our systems for the value of our clients
To promote Mutual Aid/Peer Support with clients

The post will involve regular travel locally and very occasionally nationally and the post
holder may be required to undertake occasional evening or weekend work.
