World Religions
There are thousands of religions in the world.
Religions are often divided into three categories:
those with belief in one god, those with a belief in
more than one god, and those with a belief in
divine forces of nature.
Many religions have common elements.
The five major world religions are Buddhism,
Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, and Judaism.
Hinduism
Hinduism is based on the belief that the soul
never dies but is continually reborn until it
becomes enlightened.
Judaism
Jews believe in one God who loves and protects
his people, but holds them accountable for
their sins.
Buddhism
Buddhists believe that followers can achieve
enlightenment by understanding the Four
Noble Truths and following the Eightfold Path.
Christianity
Christians believe there is only one God, that
Jesus is the Son of God, and that Jesus’ death
and resurrection made eternal life possible.
Islam
Followers of Islam believe there is only one God
