What is Congruent?

Equal in size and shape or In agreement or harmony

Two things are congruent when they have the same sizes as
in dimensions and shape. Although this definition may sound
like equal, congruent has a more precise meaning that we
need to understand, especially for complex polygons.
+
Examples of Congruence
A square with the same length sides are congruent
An equilateral triangle has the same sides therefore they are
congruent.
+
What are Congruent Triangles?

If two triangles are congruent they will have the same three sides,
same lengths and same 3 angles. “Congruent triangles can be
rotated and/or mirror images of each other (reflected).”
