Directed by Daniel Gomes with creative contribution from fashion photographer Ben Cope, the video features Next
Models Josie Canseco, Amanda Gulickson, Zoi Mantzakanis, and Christine Burke in the sexiest tennis match you
might ever see. The video was shot on location at the Calabasas home of famed Ghostbusters theme song
writer/singer, Ray Parker Jr.
With "Future Is Mine," Cassidy continues to unite worlds on the dance floor, this time by joining electro funk duo
Chromeo and DC-bred Maybach Music Group emcee Wale with iconic musicians from the late 1970s and early
1980s including Rufus' John "JR" Robinson and Bobby Watson, Barry White guitarist Wah Wah Watson, "Forget Me
Nots" composer/vocalist Patrice Rushen, and Michael Jackson horn and string arranger Jerry Hey.
Cassidy says: “First, I united electro funk lords Chromeo and Maybach Music Group emcee Wale with five legendary
musicians behind the dance classics of the early 1980s. Then, I umpired a tennis match for four NEXT models. This is
what happened. The beat, the beauty, the future...”
Chromeo says: "Known Cassidy for years now so it's only right that we jump on a joint with him. Plus he's got all
these legends playing on there…super humbling to be on the same track as our heroes. Cass is definitely on the funk
crusade."
Wale said: "Cassidy is onto a new wave of music that borrows from the past, but flips it perfectly for now. It was an
honor to work with him, Chromeo, and his team of legendary musicians. Be on the lookout for more collaborations
between The Moonz and Cassidy The Great!"
Billboard says: “[DJ Cassidy] offers a collision of old and new schools as he pairs hot contemporary singers with
players from R&B dance music's glory years," and Rolling Stone declares that Cassidy compiles “a stellar lineup of
classic-era dance musicians and modern-day singers.”
