MASTER OF SCIENCE IN MOLECULAR PHARMACOLOGY [MSC. MOL.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Applicants should be holders of either Bachelor of Pharmacy, Bachelor of Veterinary
Medicine, Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery, Bachelor of Dental Surgery and
Bachelor of Science in Nursing OR Holders of at least Upper Second Class Bachelor
of Science Degree in Physiology or Biochemistry plus a Post Graduate Diploma in a
relevant area or three years research experience OR Holders of equivalent
qualifications from institutions recognized by the Senate of the University of Nairobi.
COURSE STRUCTURE & DURATION
•The duration for the above degree programme is two years and intake starts
September 2012.
•The program will be offered on full time basis
•The course shall be in two parts: Part I consist of course work and part II devoted to
research leading to a thesis
COURSE OBJECTIVES
•To train graduates with knowledge and skills to read and evaluate scientific literature
and to engage in independent and original research in basic molecular pharmacology
and its application in drug discovery and development
•To equip the students with adequate knowledge and skill to translate the basic
knowledge in molecular pharmacology to clinical situations and its application in
disease diagnosis and management
