PROTEIN: STAPHYLOCOCCUS PHAGE G1 GP67
UNIPROT ID: 9CAUD:Q4Z9Y5
THE AUTHORS TESTED THE EFFECT OF STAPHYLOCOCCUS
PHAGE G1 GP67 ON TRANSCRIPTION IN THE BACTERIA
STAPHYLOCOCCUS AUREUS. IN FIGURE 1 OF THE PAPER
LINKED, IT IS SHOWN THAT THE ADDITION OF THE PROTEIN
GP67 INHIBITS THE TRANSCRIPTION OF RNA IN
STAPHYLOCOCCUS AUREUS.
Figure 1
Fig 1 shows the reduction of transcription
catalyzed by the Sau RNAP Holoenzyme found in
Staph aureus as Gp67 levels increase.
Figure 2
In Figure 2 pictured above, Darst et al. observed the
effect Gp67 on Staph aureus. Although the levels of
previously transcribed RNA were unchanged, it
greatly diminished transcription of new RNA labeled
with 32P.
