Graph and order real numbers
Find absolute values and opposites
The numbers used in algebra 1 are real numbers. They include whole
numbers {0,1,2,3…), integers {…-2,-1,0,1,2,…}, rational numbers
(fractions and decimals) and irrational numbers (√7, π )
Every real number can be represented by a point on a real
number line.
• Plot the numbers: 7, -4, 2⅓, -5.2, 6⅔, π
Both number lines and inequality signs can be used to
order numbers.

Graph and order the numbers:
6, 5.1, -1.7, ,
Two numbers that are the same distance from the
origin are opposites.
