Goals: This series of lectures, typodont, and wire bending exercises, should enable the
1. Apply Tweed diagnosis and treatment technique.
2. Be familiar with the Tweed-Merrifield philosophy of orthodontic treatment
Objectives: At the end of this series, the resident should:
1. Be proficient in 10-2 treatment mechanics on the typodont.
2. Apply the mechanotherapy on typodont in the correction of different types of
3. malocclusions.
4. Have in depth knowledge in the different stages of the Tweed treatment.

COURSE DURATION AND SCOPE: This
course is scheduled for full 8 days, 8 hours/day, for all the residents. It includes the basics of the Tweed philosophy, with exercises on wire bending, and direct application of the
covered issues on typodont.
POLICY ON EXAMINATIONS: One examination is given at the end of the course. It includes theoretical and practical assignments.
