Sexually risky behaviors have consequences !!! What is a sexually risky behavior??? Genital Warts/HPV: Human Papilloma Virus 20 million Americans infected. 6.2 million new infections each year. Some HPV causes visible warts…some strains have no visible evidence of infection & no test! Transmission: Skin to skin contact Treatment: Remove the warts. Some HPV will be lifelong some will fade away on their own. Genital Warts/HPV Vaccine available for 4 types of the 80+ Human Papilloma Viruses Gardasil: Now for men & women! Molluscum Contagiosum (MCV) Skin to Skin contact May be transmitted on towels or clothing or autoinoculation Itching & Tenderness but few problems. Bumps will last an average of 2 years. Can be removed by Dr. Chlamydia: “Silent Epidemic” Bacteria 3 million new cases each year! Good News = one shot of an antibiotic will cure this infection.
