Recent Advances in Data Mining of Enterprise Data
Authors’ Biographical Statements
Dimitrios Gunopulos is a Professor at the Dept. of Computer Science
and Engineering, in the University of California Riverside. His research
is in the areas of Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery in Databases,
Databases, and Algorithms. He has co-authored over a hundred journals,
conference papers, and book chapters, and a book. Dr. Gunopulos has
held positions at the IBM Almaden Research Center and at the MaxPlanck-Institut for Informatics. He completed his undergraduate studies
at the University of Patras, Greece (1990) and graduated with M.A. and
Ph.D. degrees from Princeton University (1992 and 1995 respectively).
His research has been supported by NSF (including an NSF CAREER
award and an ITR award), the DoD, the Institute of Museum and Library
Services, the Tobacco Related Disease Research Program, and AT&T.
Dr. Gunopulos has served as a PC co-Chair in ACM SIGKDD 2006 and
in SSDBM 2003, as a Vice PC-Chair in IEEE ICDE 2004 and in IEEE
ICDM 2005, and he is currently an associate Editor at IEEE TKDE and
at ACM TKDD.
Sarmila Subramaniam has been working in Google sicne graduating
with M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of California, Riverside
in 2006. She completed her Bachelor of Engineering in Computer
Science at the Regional Engineering College (REC) Trichy. Her research
interests research interests include data mining and workflow
management systems, focusing on process mining and data analysis as
well as compression in wireless sensor systems.
