New SIRIUS Relays for IO-Link: Seamless Industrial Communication
Reliable monitoring and protection
The relays SIRIUS by Siemens offer maximum machine and
system protection and now - thanks to IO-Link - also communicate with the control level. The new relays SIRIUS for
IO-Link monitor network quality, current values, voltages,
speed and temperature with the proven reliability while
supporting an even broader application area.
Two new device types are offered:
■■SIRIUS 3UG48 for IO-Link:
Monitoring of electrical and mechanical parameters
■■SIRIUS 3RS14/3RS15 for IO-Link:
Monitoring of temperatures
SIRIUS speaks IO-Link
Enjoy greater flexibility with the monitoring relays SIRIUS
for IO-Link: In addition to the unchanged autonomous
monitoring function, measured values and data can
directly be transmitted to the control via IO-Link. Also
parameter assignment can either be done locally or via IOLink. Thus, the relays SIRIUS for IO-Link are fully integrated in Totally Integrated Automation, our open system
architecture for integrated automation.
Also benefit from considerably simplified device replacement – thanks to data synchronization and automatic
parameter assignment via parameter server.
Your advantages
■■Accurate monitoring of electrical, mechanical and
temperature values
■■Reliable protection of motors and system components
■■Realization of simple autonomous temperature control
tasks (2-point, 3-point control)
■■Connection to the control level via IO-Link
■■Centralized fault diagnostics and localization
■■Eased commissioning and maintenance
■■Efficient energy management with SIRIUS 3UG48:
Support of the data formats defined in the PROFIenergy
profile

IO-Link – revolution in the control cabinet
IO-Link facilitates the uniform linking of sensors and
switching devices to the control level – by means of
efficient point-to-point connections. The new communication standard below the field bus level supports
central fault diagnostics and localization right down
to the sensor/actuator level. Parameter data can be
directly and dynamically changed in your application.
The result: Eased commissioning and maintenance,
increased system availability and reduced engineering
effort.
Open interface
IO-Link can be integrated in
all conventional field bus and
automation systems.
