So what type of cells are there?
• Plant & Animal Cells
This is a
plant cell
So what type of cells are there?
This is an
animal cell
Prokaryotes & Eukaryotes
• Prokaryotes:
– Lack membrane bound organelles in cytoplasm
– Circular DNA called plasmid (Circular loop)
– Chemically different ribosomes to eukaryotes
– Origin: from the Greek meaning Before
• Eukaryotes have:
– Possess membrane bound nucleus & organelles
– Linear DNA (Double helix)
– Possess membrane bound organelles in
cytoplasm
– Origin: from the Greek meaning true (as in
nucleus)
