Data Entry Pharmacy Technician SUMMARY: Data Technician establishes and maintains patient profiles, including lists of medications taken by individual patients while working under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in streamlining communication with the pharmacist, nurses, and other healthcare-related parties Back up the Customer Service department in answering telephones/emails, stats, and/or LiveChats Receive written/faxed prescription or refills requests and verify that information is complete and accurate Daily keying of new orders and refills Refill Too Soon Queue, Work Queue, E-Rx Queue Coordinate responses and resolutions with the appropriate internal and external parties Perform all tasks in a safe manner that is consistent with corporate policies as well as state and federal laws Work as part of a team to provide support to other members of the healthcare team Other duties as assigned COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: PRN weekend coverage Attention to detail General mathematics Knowledge of medical terminology (including sig codes and Roman numerals), brand and generic names of medications and general pharmacy terminology Familiarity with standard pharmacy concepts, practices and procedures Excellent written and verbal communication skills General computer skills Excellent problem solving skills and analytical thinking Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize Ability to multitask EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or G.E.D. Indiana state Pharmacy Technician license or Tech-in-Training permiT PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Small amounts of lifting; must be able to safely lift up to 20 lbs Close vision with computer and paperwork Multifaceted communication on constant basis Minor walking and standing WORKING CONDITIONS: ON-SITE in Indianapolis. Work in well-lighted, heated and/or air conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation alongside a team of dedicated and intelligent employees.
