calcarine fissure. The geniculocalcarine fibers from the medial half of the lateral geniculate terminate on the superior lip of the calcarine fissure, and those
from the lateral half terminate on the inferior lip. Also, the fibers from the lateral geniculate body that relay macular vision separate from those that relay
peripheral vision and end more posteriorly on the lips of the calcarine fissure.
