Fats and all remaining carbohydrates and proteins that have not been digested in the stomach and the mouth are digested in the small intestine 19. What is pizza changed into in the small intestine? It is changed into a soupy mix containing digested food like amino acids(broken down proteins), broken down fats, sugars(broken down starch), vitamins and minerals.
