Introduction
A region is an area with common
features that set it apart from
other areas. The 5 regions of the
US are the Northeast,
Southeast, Mid-West,
Southwest and the West, and the
4 regions of New Jersey are the
Atlantic Costal plain, the
Piedmont, the Highland and The
Ridge and Valley.
Northeast
We live in this region
The Northeast experiences the
feel of all the four seasons
The Appalachian Mountains run
through most of the Northeast
The Atlantic costal plain is a flat
low land along the edge of the
Atlantic Ocean
Southeast
The Southeast is warm all year
round
The Southeast has Davis
Bayou which is a marshy slow
moving stream
The Southeast has many
swamps marshes and rivers
The Southeast is crossed
crossed with rivers
Middlewest
The Central Plains are in the MidWest are on the eastern side of the
region it is a low elevation and produces
corn
The Mid-West is mostly made up of
the Interior plains
They also have the Great Plains witch
is in the Western part of this region
The Mid-West produces corn and
wheat
Southwest
The Southwest is mostly made up of
high plateaus, plains and deserts
One of the most famous landforms in
this region is the Grand Canyon in
Grand Canyon national park,
Arizona
The Rocky Mountains are in the
Southwest as well as the West
The Southwest also shares the
Great Plains with the Mid-West
West
The Great Basin is in this
region
Landforms include mountains,
plateaus and valleys
The Redwood trees in Oregon
and California are the tallest
trees in the world sometimes
they make tunnels out of the
trees
New Jerseys Regions
Atlantic costal plain
We live in this NJ region
The ACP covers most of
NJ
They are the home of the
Pinelands
Piedmont
The Piedmont is NJ's
biggest population cause
this region is so close to
New York City
The Piedmont is located at
the foothills
The fall line separates the
Piedmont from the ACP
Highlands
Most of NJ's lakes are
found here in the Highlands
The town of Franklin is
known for its glowing rocks
Ridge and Valley
The Ridge and Valley is the
home to the Delaware
Water Gap
Dairy farming is an
important business
The Appalachian
Mountains run through most
of this region in NJ
