 Third pharaoh of ancient Egypt's 19th dynasty
 Born: about 1304 B.C
 Mother: Tuya
 Father: Seti I
 Ramses served as co-regent, or co-ruler, with his father while he
was still quite young
 When he was in his twenties, he became pharaoh.
 He died in 1212 B.C. after ruling Egypt for 67 years.
 Ramses built extensively. His mortuary temple, called the
Ramesseum, includes courtyards, decorated pylons, and many
statues of the pharaoh. His most famous projects are the two
temples at Abu Simbel on the west bank of the Nile River.
