A concert with Atilla Sautov is an astounding experience. Atilla rivals the world’s
best violinists with his incredible virtuosic skills. His 202 year-old French
violin almost seems a part of him; he can guide it through bows, pizzicatos and
trills, often simultaneously and at impossible speeds yet is able to convey
immense emotion, depth and richness regardless of tempo, often moving
audience members to tears. Atilla has conquered some of the most difficult violin
compositions in history, and his command of the violin is nothing short of
amazing.
A child prodigy in Tashkent, Atilla went on to study in Moscow and then
entertained audiences with an international solo career. He has performed in
over forty countries in some of the grandest venues, and has won prestigious
international violin competitions. However, despite his accolades, experience and
incredible talent, Atilla is refreshingly unpretentious and natural. His charismatic
and spontaneous stage presence adds another dimension to his concerts and he
delights with his ad-libs, anecdotes and charming sense of humour.
Atilla recently channelled some of his immense creative energy into a
classical/rock extravaganza, where he blended classical masterpieces with
contemporary rock in an eclectic melting pot of music. The MPAC was packed
with people of all ages, who were enthralled by his unique debut performance.
Despite the success of this crossover show, Atilla has not abandoned his roots,
and continues to delight audiences with his classical concerts. The smaller
venues that lure him enhance the relaxed style that is inherent in his
performances, and heighten his connection with the audience, something that he
loves.
