Are we living in a deterministic or nondeterministic universe?
1. When Newton discovered gravity, he wrote down a simple equation:
a. F=ma
where F=Force, m=mass, a=acceleration. By combining
with elementary calculus, Newton seems successfully proof that all the
planets, star motion are deterministic.
b. However, for nowadays scientists who truly try to understand the gravity,
they know there are lot problems with Newton law and calculus.
i. F=ma can only apply to 2 bodies. Any higher number of bodies
can only be solved by numerical approximate method. Thus F=ma
is an incomplete solution.
ii. Calculus breakdown totally in Quantum World, because you can
never approach to zero.
2. Maxwell also came along with his brilliance equations on electromagnetic
phenomenon. His 6 equations totally describe the behavior of electromagnetic
very successfully. The only problem is that in today world, no close form solution
can be found and almost any practical solution comes from numerical method.
The problem with numerical method is that you have no ideas that your solution is
unique because a very small change in the environment can have great impact on
your numerical solution. Sometimes, you really have to pray that you hit the
sweet spot.
3. Then Einstein came along in 1929 and published his paper on special relativity:
where E=mc2 become the most well known equation in today world. After that,
Einstein started working on his general relativity and finally published his paper
in 1950 or 1960. In his paper, he stated that gravity can curve the space and time.
For the first time, major telescopes, other time experiments, and even GPS
satellites agree with Einstein theory. From Einstein theory, the existence of Black
Hole was predicted. In the 80’, astronomers confirm the existence of Black Hole
in Milky Way and other galaxies.
a. However, most scientists start to have doubt about Einstein general
relativity because all physical laws break down in the Black Hole.
b. Quantum Mechanic becoming more and more solid because tests after
tests it passes.
4. Bohr is the high priest of Quantum Mechanic. Quantum Mechanic actually defied
almost all human logic. For example,
a. It is possible to communicate with anyone anywhere in this Cosmos in real
time. (Speed of light no longer the limit).
b. There is no causality.
c. There is always uncertainty in whatever you do.
In Quantum Mechanic, if you measure something, then something becomes
reality. That why Einstein asked the question: “If we do not look at the Moon,
does the Moon ceased to exist.” Einstein had tried many ingenuous experiments
to disproof Quantum Mechanic and Bohr always found the right answer to
defense Quantum Mechanic.
Bohr, the high priest of Quantum Mechanic and Einstein both struggled with this
question at their death bed: Did God play dice with the Universe.
Conclusion:
I like to state that profound question like “Did God play dice with the Universe” from
scientists like Einstein and Bohr really can not be answered in the science domain. Yet in
the Faith domain, it is very easy to understand and to find the right answer. All God
believers: Jews, Christians, Muslims know the following facts:



Humans know Good and Evil
Humans are given Free Will
Humans are given a soul
God is so confident about humans that He accept Devils challenge as written in the Bible
Revelation. (Revelation was written by Devils 2000 years ago to challenge God).
Also God has given humans a Free Will. Every individual can choose to be with God or
against God, thus powerful individuals who exercise their Free Will change the reality
around them.
If my assumption is correct, our world and eventually the whole Cosmos is changing with
time. Therefore, travel backward in time is not possible.
Also the future of the Cosmos really depend on how humanity overcoming its vices (by
trusting God and His Ten Commandments), and how we can defeated and destroyed the
Devils.
The Cosmos is non-deterministic and the future is not set yet!!!
