WHAT IS INVOLVED?
Campus Correspondents are responsible for:
• Editorial Creation
-- Create new content for each required content section on a weekly basis (no web experience
needed).
• Generating Publicity
-- Publicize the Her Campus brand while raising awareness about your on-campus chapter.
• The Growth and Management of a Dedicated Team
-- Build and lead a staff on your campus, including an executive team.
• Participate in Marketing Opportunities
-- Work with the Her Campus National team on marketing and event programs that include
elements, such as sponsored content and campus sampling for national clients.
HOW TO APPLY
Campus Correspondent applications* require the following:
• Cover Letter (PDF files only)
-- Teams of two require a joint cover letter.
• Individual Resume/CV (PDF files only)
-- Please emphasize experience in journalism, online media, marketing/public relations/event planning, entrepreneurship, general leadership experience, etc.
• Individual original writing samples (PDF files only)
-- Exampes: Published newspaper or magazine articles, press releases, original articles that could
appear on HerCampus.com
-- Choose a writing sample that demonstrates your ability to write professionally with clarity and
coherence.
-- If you don’t have any published work, you should submit an original article that could appear on
HerCampus.com
• 3 on-campus publicity ideas
-- Teams of two require three joint publicity ideas
• Minimum of 5 students on campus interested in joining your team

*Applications with a team of two Campus Correspondents are preferred.
THE APPLICATION PROCESS
The acceptance, orientation and onboarding process can potentially take six weeks
to two months to complete, but you will be assisted the entire way by our Community
Management Team.
If your initial application is proven eligible to continue, applicants will be asked to:
• Submit a work product test
• Complete a brief phone interview with Cara Chiaramonte, Community Development Manager
• Acquire 100 email signatures from students at your school to demonstrate campus support
Upon acceptance, new Campus Correspondents will be expected to:
• Sign confidentiality agreements
• Read through resources carefully and take short quizzes to orient you with the HC site and prepare
you to lead your chapter
• Prepare your first week’s worth of digital content and submit it two weeks prior to your launch date
for HC National review
• Practice uploading content to the site
• Recruit writers and build a team on your campus
-- Team should consist of an executive board, writers, marketers and social media mavens
-- Executive Board should consist of: Campus Correspondents (Editor-in-Chief/President), Senior
Editor, Events Director, Marketing & Publicity Director and Social Media Director.
