 There are two forms for future continuous.
1.
Will be verb + ing
Ex. will be eating
2. Be going to be verb + ing
Ex. is going to be eating
Uses/Meanings
 Future continuous indicates an action that will be in
progress at a definite time in the future.
 Next month, Sikander’ll be vacationing!
 If the action won’t be repeated and will be at an
indefinite time or unknown time in the future, simple
future may be used.
 Ex. Soon, Stacey’ll be sleeping on the beach. Soon,
Stacey will sleep on the beach.
More Meanings
 Future Continuous is also used for an action that will
be in progress when another action happens.
 Ex. While she is sleeping, Jia will be swimming.
 Simple Future is used for a future action that will
happen after another action.
 Ex. Stacey will sleep, and Jia will cover her up with a
towel.
Even More Meanings
 Future Continuous also emphasizes the long duration
of a future action.
 Ex. She’ll be sleeping all day!
 Future Continuous is used for repeated future actions.
Ex. She’ll be sleeping there often.
 Future Continuous is not used with non-action verbs.
 Present Continuous is often used in dependent clauses
with Future Continuous in the main clause.
 Ex. While she is sleeping, Jia will be swimming.
