*Was toxicity value below the chemical’s water solubility? (Y/N)
n/a
Other adverse effects (carcinogenicity, mutagenicity, etc. Do not assess this item)
Score: major items - 1/4 (25%);
overall score: 13/20 = 65%
EC Reliability code: 3
Reliability category (high, satisfactory, low): Low
Comments: Ethacrynic acid is a pharmaceutical drug used to treat high blood pressure and fluid retention in
people. The report was to determine the effects upon glutathione s-transferase (GST) production by cladocerans
in the presence of ethacrynic acid. No toxicity values were determined.
