Hands On: (partner or classmate)
1. Perform trails on a partner or classmate; take time to discover the details of the region. While
palpating region pay particular attention to layers, textures, and depth different tissues of the
region. (Muscle, bone, and ligament).
2. Use soft relaxed fingers over the sacrum, to feel for specific structures, and full palm for whole
sacrum. With a flat, soft, whole hand hold, tune into the clients breath and movement (or nonmovement) of the sacrum with each breath.
3. Briefly describe your experience working through the palpation exercises, describe: tissue
textures, depths, and your impressions of how the length, strength, or weakness of these
structures could have influence on lumbar and spine health and/or postural health & comfort.
