Do You Want to Create Beautiful Smiles and Change Lives?
The AAO Donated Orthodontic Services (DOS) program provides orthodontic care to indigent children without insurance coverage or who
do not qualify for other assistance in their state of residence. AAO member orthodontists volunteer to help one new patient each year.
Initially, the DOS program launched in nine states and has now expanded nationwide. For more information, visit aaoinfo.org > Donated
Orthodontic Services (DOS) Program (under Practice Management).

The Program
“This is a worry-free program. The orthodontist is free
from any need to assess or validate patients’ financial
situations, as we would usually have to do in providing
charity care on our own.”
– Dr. Barry Raphael
AAO Member in Montville, NJ
Established in 2009, the AAO Donated Orthodontic Services
(DOS) program provides nationwide access to orthodontic treatment for children in need. The program’s mission is to serve
indigent children without insurance coverage or that do not
qualify for other assistance in their state of residence.
The program is overseen by a Board of Directors comprised of
both AAO member orthodontists and corporate supporters from
leading orthodontic suppliers and is a 501(c)(3) organization.
Program development is administered by Dental Lifeline Network
(DLN), the largest and most established dental charity providing
access to comprehensive dental care for people with disabilities
or who are aged or medically at risk.
