ALADDIN has many truly magical moments
with over 84 special effects including
pyrotechnics,
lifts,
transformations
and a magic
carpet that
actually flies.
The very
scale of the
production
makes it one
of the most
spectacular
seen on the London stage, with over 180 people
involved in delivering each performance. This
includes actors, stage crew, musicians, dressers,
hairstylists, make-up artists, ushers, bar and box
office staff. Not forgetting the traditional stagedoor keeper.
The costume design team trawled the world
to bring ALADDIN’s fashions to the stage,
importing fabrics from nine
different countries: Morocco,
Turkey, India, Uzbekistan,
Guatemala, France, Italy,
Germany and China. Over
350 costume makers, in 28
studios, have helped sew
over 2000
costumes.

Swarovski Crystals: just one
costume in the finale Friend

While the animated film was in development,
the character of the Genie was based on jazz
greats Cab Calloway and Fats Waller. Though
this concept was eventually changed for the
film, it was brought back to life for the live
show. Broadway case member Trevor Dion
Nicholas will make his London stage debut
as the Genie. The lead roles of Aladdin and
Jasmine will be played by rising British stars
Dean John-Wilson
(Here Lies Love,
Songs from a

Jade Ewen (Porgy

MOTOWN THE MUSICAL follows the true story of Motown founder Berry Gordy, who

Don’t miss MRS HENDERSON PRESENTS, the hilarious,
brand-new, five-star musical that’s had critics in raptures, as it

It’s London, 1937, and recently-widowed eccentric, Laura Henderson, is looking for a way of
spending her time and money when her attention falls on a rundown former cinema in Great
Windmill Street. Hiring feisty impresario Vivian Van Damm to look after the newly renovated
Windmill Theatre, the improbable duo present a bill of non-stop variety acts. But as war looms
something more is required to boost morale and box office... When Mrs Henderson comes
up with the idea of The Windmill Girls – glamorous young women posing as nude statues –
audiences flock. And as the Blitz hits London, The Windmill provides a refuge for all, boasting
the spirit-raising slogan “We Never Close”.

THE AMAZING STORY
WITH HIT SONG AFTER HIT SONG
Aldwych Theatre
Carole King, the chart-topping music legend, was an ordinary girl with an
extraordinary talent. She fought her way into the record industry as a teenager
and sold her first hit, Will You Love Me Tomorrow, when she was just seventeen.
By the time she was twenty she was writing number ones for the biggest acts in
rock ‘n’ roll, including the Drifters, the Shirelles, Aretha Franklin and the Monkees.
BEAUTIFUL is the untold story of her journey from school girl to superstar; from
her relationship with husband and song-writing partner Gerry Goffin, their close
friendship and playful rivalry with fellow song-writing duo Barry Mann and Cynthia
Weil, to her remarkable rise to stardom.
