How to disable or reset Enhanced Security on QP+ (Part: IC755CXSXXXXX)
Enhanced Security feature was introduced to Proficy Machine Edition software. It enables or disables
the use of a password to connect to this target. When enabled, only users with the correct password can
connect to the target for uploads, downloads, or online connections.
When attempts to download a QP+ project in the touch screen, user will be getting password prompt, to
enter the password.
If you forgot the password, or you want to disable the password prompt by Enhanced Security. Please
use the steps below:
1.) Set Enhanced Security Disabled = Treat as Warning

2.) Enter a dummy IP address (e.g 10.10.10.10) that IP address doesn’t exist in your network in the
Computer Address field , then set Enhanced Security = FALSE
3.) You will be expecting a pop up message saying “Security Setting Update Failed”. This is what we
want to see where Machine Edition cannot send encryption flag to the panel through the over
network. The Enhanced Security in the Machine Edition project is now disabled. Press “OK”
continue.

4.) Remove the dummy IP address in the computer address field, then enter the QP+ IP address of
in the Computer Address field
5.) Perform project download to your QP+

6.) The Steps 1.) – 5.) disabled enhanced security at the Machine Edition project. If you are still
getting password prompt, it indicated that QP+ hardware is encrypted. Then you will next to
move on to Step 7.
7.) Disable Enhanced Security via QuickPanel+ OS Utilities by access Start - > System -> QP+ OS
Utility Setting -> Reset Enhanced security.
Select “Reset Enhanced Security”  physically Double Tab “Disable” button on the screen.
*Warning – For Security reason - QP+ OS Utilities Setting DO NOT support VNC / Target Viewer
remote or External USB Mouse interaction. User MUST be physically in front of the panel to
perform Double Tab action to the button through the screen interaction.

8.) The Enhanced Security reset utility in Step 7.) above was introduced into the QP+ start from
certain firmware version forward.
- QP+ 7” firmware build 21 or higher
-QP+ 6” – Firmware build 7 or higher
-QP+ 10” / 12” / 15” – Firmware build 12 or higher
If you DO NOT see “QuckPanel+ OS Utilities Setting” on the panel start menu, then the latest
version firmware update is required.
