Geometry: A brief History
Roughly 2000 years ago, a Greek mathematician named Euclid, wrote a book titled, Elements. In this book, Euclid first introduced the concept of Geometry. Today, we call the geometry we study Euclidean Geometry.

In Elements, Euclid wrote about 5 postulates, the foundations of our current day geometry class (we will define postulates later)
1. Between any two points a straight line may be drawn.
2. A line segment can be extended forever in a straight line.
3. Given a line segment, a circle may be drawn having one endpoint as the center and the segment as a radius.
4. All right angles are congruent.
5. If a straight line falling on two straight lines makes the interior angles on the same side less than two right angles, then the straight lines, if extended indefinetely, meet on the side on which the angles lie.
Euclid also started algebraic geometry, and finding the square root of number
