Background
The Department of Human Services has embarked on a program of major reform to deliver more-integrated,
family-centred services for vulnerable Victorians.
On 14 December 2012, the department commenced new working arrangements as part of an organisational
restructure that will put more focus on local service delivery and decision-making and will lay the foundations
for further reform.
The department’s eight regions will be replaced by 17 areas to ensure services are available for people when
and where they are needed.
Services and support for clients will continue to be provided through the department’s existing office locations.
Some of the smaller dedicated housing offices will continue to focus on housing services at this stage. In the
longer-term, some offices will provide a broader range of services.
Clients are welcome to access the department’s services through whichever office is closest.
