Tuberculosis (TB) case rates in the United States (per 100 000 population) by country or region of birth, 1993-2004. Total US rates
are based on all cases of TB reported in the United States. Total South Asia–born TB rates include persons from Bangladesh, India,
and Pakistan (these countries contributed 96% of the South Asia–born cases during the study period). Persons born in Bhutan,
Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka are not included in this figure because of lack of population figures for these groups (population
figures were also not available for the Pakistan-born
and Bangladesh-born
